□ The Presidential Archives of the National Archives of Korea under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (headed by Choi Jae-hee) is hosting a special exhibition entitled The Road to Peace at the Special Exhibition Hall of the Presidential Archives from December 12, 2018, reflecting Korean people's aspirations for peace on the Korean Peninsula.

 ○ This exhibition, The Road to Peace, will showcase over 150 carefully selected documents, photos, videos, and documentary art records that together display the milestones of past inter-Korean summits at a glance.

□ Some of the major documents to be on display for the first time are the inter-Korean summit preparation plan (2000); the major agenda (proposal) of the inter-Korean summit (2000); the inter-Korean summit promotion strategy (2000); personal data of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il (2000); North Korea's moves to prepare for the inter-Korean summit (2007); and the summary of the results of the first one-on-one meeting of the inter-Korean summit (2007).

○ The record and lineage certificate for two Pungsan dogs and the dinner invitation sent by Chairman Kim Jong-il to President Kim Dae-jung, the Arirang Performance invitation and pamphlet sent by Chairman Kim Jong-il to President Roh Moo-hyun, and the issues of North Korea's Rodong Sinmun that reported the inter-Korean summits will be included in the exhibits.

□ A variety of articles exchanged between the leaders of the two Koreas and used for the inter-Korean summits will also be put on display.

Geumgangsan Seonnyeodo (Painting of Taoist Fairies in Geumgangsan Mountain) presented to President Park Chung-hee by North Korean leader Kim Il-sung when Director Lee Hu-rak of the Korea Central Intelligence Agency of South Korea visited Pyeongyang in 1972 and the peony-engraved celadon jar presented to President Park Chung-hee by North Korean leader Kim Il-sung during the inter-Korean Red Cross talks in 1976 will be included in the exhibits.

○ The documentary art records (148 items including dinnerware used by the two leaders and articles used for planting the ceremonial tree) from the April 27 inter-Korean summit of 2018 are on loan from Cheong Wa Dae for display at the exhibition. Among them are the box that contained soil from Baekdusan Mountain and the bottle that carried water from the Daedonggang River for the planting of the ceremonial tree (both produced by North Korea), as well as the naengmyeon bowls (produced by North Korea) and Munbaeju liquor glasses used by President Moon Jae-in and Chairman Kim Jong-un.

○ In addition, exhibits on loan from other external organizations will be open to the public.

    - The Roh Moo-hyun Foundation offered the commemorative badge and a replica of the commemorative monument for the inter-Korean summit of 2007 and a replica of the celadon dish engraved with the roses of Sharon presented to Chairman Kim Jong-il.

    - The large bronze plate engraved with symbols wishing for peace on the Korean Peninsula and the gold, silver, and bronze commemorative medals produced by Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corp. in 2018 in celebration of the April 27 inter-Korean summit, as well as the stamp album published by Korea Post in 2018 in celebration of the April 27 inter-Korean summit, will also be exhibited.

□ A replica of the Footbridge, now globally known as the bridge upon which the leaders of the two Koreas walked together and had a one-on-one meeting for 30 minutes on April 27, 2018, will be installed on site for viewers to walk on and have their photographs taken. The photographs can be readily printed upon request. Also, a message zone wishing for peace on the Korean Peninsula will be set up for viewers to write down and post their own messages.
